INTRODUCTION
The endocannabinoid system is an umbrella signaling system and is part of the vast majority of cells that make up our body and regulates most vital processes. With appropriate and scientifically supported use of cannabinoids, we can influence this system and positively influence the course of many health problems.

Cannabis in Slovenian medicine
Hemp resin is the main source of cannabinoids, which have been used in medicine in Slovenia since 2014, but there is still a shortage of qualified doctors in public healthcare. In Slovenia, treatment with cannabinoids is not considered a priority treatment option. In conventional medicine, cannabinoids are prescribed as an additional therapy that improves the effectiveness of conventional drugs, or when other therapies have not proven to be effective enough. In certain cases, ZZZS also reimburses the costs of treatment with cannabinoids.

Safety of Cannabinoids
All drugs that act on the central nervous system also have potential side effects. The same applies to cannabinoids, but there is a very important difference between them. Thus, THC has a potentially strong psychotropic effect, while CBD has none at all.

Who is cannabinoid therapy for?
Medicinal active ingredients of cannabis represent an important supplement to the existing range of classic drugs and increase the possibility of optimal treatment of symptoms. The treatment with cannabinoid medicines is individual, the entire duration of the treatment requires medical supervision of the effectiveness of the treatment, side effects and the course of the disease itself.
There is a large individual difference in bioavailability and optimal therapeutic dose between patients. The individual medicinal dose adapted to the individual patient is determined by gradually increasing the amount of cannabinoids until the desired therapeutic effect (titration). The optimal dose is the one at which the side effects are still acceptable, they do not interfere with daily activities, and the objective and subjective indicators of the effectiveness of the treatment are positive.

Counseling
It is intended for patients with more serious or chronic diseases (cancer, chronic pain, rheumatoid diseases, neurological diseases, immune diseases, etc.) who would like to supplement conventional treatment with cannabinoid therapy or also as a preventive use. There are more and more patients who, in the modern pace of life, need support (against stress, insomnia, burnout, great psychophysical exertion, strengthening of immunity, etc.)

CANNABINOID TREATMENT OUTPALARY
We offer outpatient care in cooperation with the leading institution specializing in the medical use of cannabinoids, the International Cannabinoid Institute ICANN, which brings together an academic council in the Cannabinoid Clinic. If necessary, the council also cooperates with specialists from abroad who are active in the treatment of pain, palliative care, neurology, prevention, etc.

Method of ordering:
As a rule, consultations are conducted by letter, based on medical documentation and, if necessary, via video link or telephone.

The patient receives information regarding:

• appropriate combination of cannabinoids and their dosage,
• the impact of CBD and other cannabinoids on the dosage of other drugs (drug-drug interaction), which is information for the attending physician,
• indications/contraindications according to the clinical picture of the patient.

HOW LONG DO YOU RECEIVE AN ANSWER?

1. General questions regarding cannabinoid treatment counseling will be answered within 7 days of receipt of payment based on the issued invoice.
2. You will receive an answer to more extensive questions and received medical documentation within 14-21 days after receiving payment based on the issued invoice.

METHOD OF PAYMENT:
After receiving a question or receiving medical documentation, you will receive an answer as to whether you are a suitable candidate for treatment with cannabinoid therapy. If the experts decide that you are suitable for treatment with cannabinoids, we will send you an offer-invoice in accordance with the valid price list.
Upon receipt of payment, you will receive a written explanation of the cannabinoid treatment. If necessary, we will call you or contact you and, depending on your capabilities, ask for communication via video consultation.
