Trametes versicolor - mushroom of vitality!
Mushrooms, which have been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years, represent a natural wealth of supportive properties. They are known for their extraordinary effects on holistic health. One of these magnificent mushrooms is the medicinal mushroom Pisana ploskovekka or Turkey tail, often also called sponge of vitality, which is especially valued for its ability to strengthen cellular immunity.
The heritage of the colorful flat pipe is highly valued in Japan, China and other parts of Asia, where it has been recognized for thousands of years.
Flat tuber is still widely used today as one of the most common immunostimulating agents against cancer, as it strengthens cellular immunity. Antitumor activity increases in combination with radiation, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
Traditionally, it was enjoyed in the form of infusions or tea to strengthen the spirit, increase vital energy, strengthen bones and tendons, and support the immune system. The colorful flat tube truly represents a natural wealth of supportive properties!
When observing the aerial part of the Pied Piper, we notice a similarity with the tail feathers of a turkey, which is why its English name is Turkey tail. Some also call it the butterfly flat tube. It thrives on fallen trunks and branches, where it feeds and decomposes at the same time.
The colorful flat tube is a mushroom with a wide fan-shaped "cap" and a very short stem. It grows almost all year round on the dead trunks of deciduous trees. We can collect it ourselves for our home pharmacy, as it grows all over the world. It is ideal for harvesting in nature, where it is widespread and grows abundantly throughout the year. After harvesting, it must be frozen quickly (within 24 hours) or dried immediately in a dryer at 120 degrees. It can be used to prepare a tea that is slightly slimy and has a taste and smell reminiscent of cream of mushroom soup.
Pisna slokosveka is a rich source of protein and fiber and contains B vitamins. Studies show that Pisna slokosveka can stimulate the immune system and help the body fight infections. The fiber in Pisana flat tuber can support the health of the digestive system and encourage the growth of beneficial intestinal microflora.
It was traditionally used in Mexico for mouth ulcers as a result of candida overgrowth and to treat ringworm or impetigo, a purulent inflammation of the skin. In Japan, the protein-bound polysaccharide PSK (Kureha polysaccharide), with which the colorful flat tube is rich, is often prescribed as a supporting substance for many problems and as a recommended dietary supplement.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it has a sweet taste and is slightly warm; enters the spleen and heart meridians, invigorates the spirit. In China, it is used for infections of the upper respiratory tract, urinary and metabolic tracts, and as a support for a weakened immune system, tumors, treatment of liver diseases, including hepatitis B, and chronic active hepatitis.
