Hemp CBD and Aging
We can't prevent aging, but we can slow down the process of premature aging. We can do most of this ourselves, and the cannabinoid CBD from the cannabis flower is also a great help.
What is our (your) attitude towards aging?
When the word “ageing” is mentioned in public today, most people automatically think of old age and the elderly. But aging does not only affect the elderly. We are reminded of this every day by our inner voice, which reminds us that we are constantly aging from the moment we are born.
Age-related changes are manifested on a spiritual, psycho-social and physical level. The physical level is limited by time. Aging is a material clock that runs and "says nothing", but it simply is! While it runs, runs and keeps running, and here, on Earth, it will continue to run, our body ages.
If we look at this more closely, we find that with aging, from birth to death, continuous physical changes occur. The skin renews cells more slowly and becomes thinner, wrinkles, age spots, spots form on it... The spinal cartilage collapses, muscles and tendons weaken, reaction time lengthens, physical strength decreases, memory becomes slower and worse, motor skills also deteriorate, bones become weaker... Aging does not spare our senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. It is also noticeable in the internal senses, where it is expressed in the needs for food, drink, rest... Internal organs fail. Age-related changes also occur in thinking, emotions, perception, and as a result, we also solve everyday problems less effectively.
Aging cannot be tamed or stopped. But we can balance it with our attitude towards ourselves and aging – if we just listen to our inner voice. Does an individual even hear this inner voice? Do I hear my inner voice, which flows and flows with me from moment to moment of my life? Because from moment to moment we can pass absent – or attentive, present, self-aware, aware. It depends on this how quickly we will age.
The attitude towards one's own presence therefore also begins with the attitude towards aging. With awareness/raising awareness and by adequately satisfying the needs (for stress management, quality food and drink, rest, etc.) that enable a quality life, our aging will not be too rapid, but balanced with creation. This means that age-related changes affect an alert, present, aware, healthy and vital person completely differently than an absent, exhausted, sick person. This is also the secret of all those who burst with youth, vitality and health in old age!
Many of the active ingredients of cannabis are among the many natural preparations that help a conscious person prevent premature aging.
How does CBD from hemp inhibit premature brain aging?
Signs of accelerated brain aging include neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, ALS, dementia, and others. Researchers believe that they occur due to an imbalance between the production and elimination of toxic substances (e.g. free radicals) and damaged molecules (e.g. amyloid plaque buildup) in the brain. If this balance is disrupted, it can lead to damage to nerve cells, inflammation, and even brain death. The neural network through which information is transmitted throughout the body can also be damaged. This results in a decrease in mental abilities and an increased susceptibility to the aforementioned neurodegenerative diseases.
Many believe that the processes that cause premature brain aging can only be inhibited by well-functioning homeostatic mechanisms, which include antioxidant protection, care for the preservation of hereditary material, and a well-functioning "cleaning" system that processes and removes everything that hinders normal brain function. As research shows, these protective mechanisms can be well supported by various cannabis cannabinoids (CBD, THC, CBG, etc.), as they replace the deficit of the body's cannabinoids, which decrease with aging.
Various levels of evidence for the cannabinoid CBD (cannabidiol) confirm that it is a neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory antioxidant, that it has anti-ischemic effects and stimulates the growth of new nerve cells, and that it also acts as an anxiolytic and antipsychotic.
As a neuroprotective antioxidant, CBD works more powerfully than vitamins C and E. Consuming CBD drops therefore neutralizes free radicals in the brain to a greater extent and thus protects nerve cells from damage better than taking these two vitamins (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC20965/).
Because CBD soothes inflammation in the brain and stimulates the formation of new nerve cells, researchers see it as a serious candidate for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28217094). CBD helps protect the brain by preventing the breakdown of anandamide (a body cannabinoid), which is known to protect nerve cells from inflammation. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16387640). In addition, CBD prevents the breakdown of the neurotransmitter adenosine, resulting in anti-inflammatory effects.
CBD may also protect nerve cells in the event of circulatory disorders in the brain (stroke). ResearchStudies conducted on pigs have shown that taking CBD after a short-term interruption of blood flow to the brain reduces brain damage.
Because CBD alleviates various mood disorders (anxiety, depression, etc.), it also protects the nervous system from burnout.
Because taking CBD improves sleep quality, it also helps to better cleanse the brain, as it is cleansed especially during sleep with the help of the glymphatic cleansing system.
