How and for how long is it good to consume CBD to achieve the desired effects?
Due to the many therapeutic potential of cannabis cannabinoids such as CBD, more and more people are turning to it. But many of them have a few questions about how long it is best to consume CBD to achieve the desired effects.
Don't you know the potential of cannabis cannabinoids yet?
Existing research reveals the extraordinary therapeutic potential of cannabis cannabinoids. Along with THC, CBD is one of the most important cannabis cannabinoids, both in terms of research and potential and in terms of quantitative representation in the plant. So far, 144 cannabinoids have been identified. We have written extensively about the capabilities of CBD in previous issues of the newsletter, so this time let's take a look at the potential of the cannabinoid CBG (cannabigerol). For example, it is known to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, to reduce anxiety, improve sleep quality, have antibacterial effects, and may also help with urinary tract problems and cancer. It is therefore not surprising that more and more people are turning to cannabis cannabinoids. In order to help us as best as possible, it is also good to know the following…
How to start taking CBD and how long to stick with it?
It is recommended to start using CBD in low doses, gradually increasing them until the desired effect is achieved. The reason? CBD supports the functioning of the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is responsible for restoring lost balance in the body or, in other words, for activating self-healing powers. (You can read more about this in the books How to preserve your brain and Natural solutions for pain.) Many researchers believe that there is no disease that is not related to poor ECS function. The ECS is depleted by an inadequate lifestyle (chronic stress, dehydration, poor-quality food, etc.).
If we want to effectively support the ECS with cannabis cannabinoids such as CBD, CBG and others, we need to find the optimal daily dose (CBD or another cannabinoid) that comes closest to the needs of the affected ECS. However, since everyone lives differently (diet, stress management, possible presence of chronic diseases, etc.), our ECS is affected to varying degrees, so there is no universal daily dose of CBD that would be suitable for everyone. In order to find the optimal daily dose that will work (help manage the problem), it is recommended to initially take CBD (and other cannabinoids) in low doses and then gradually (over a few days or weeks) increase them until the desired effect appears. For the initial dosage, CBD drops with a low percentage of CBD (e.g. 3 % or 5 %) are most suitable, but not resin (this is a pure extract or extract from industrial hemp flowers), as it is a concentrate of cannabinoids. If you haven't had success with CBD drops with low percentages of active ingredient, you can also try stronger drops (10, 20, or 30 percent), which are comparable in strength to resin, so it's a good idea to consult with a qualified professional about how to take them.
When the body responds positively to taking cannabinoids (e.g. it helps relieve pain, inflammation, stress, etc.), this means that we are close to the appropriate daily dose. The ECS is now properly supported so that it can activate the body's self-healing powers. We should stick to this dose until the problems disappear. How long depends on the type and severity of the problems (how severely the ECS is impaired). It may happen that we will gradually reduce the daily dose over time as the condition improves. In the event of a possible deterioration of the condition, it is recommended to reduce the daily dose. If CBD needs to be taken for a longer period of time, some recommend taking a break for a week or two after three months to see how our ECS does without cannabinoid support. If the problem returns, we should continue taking it.
It is important that, at the same time as taking CBD, we also eliminate the causes that led to the disease (drink enough water, eat healthy food, resolve conflicts that lead to chronic stress, etc.); this will make solving the problems even more effective, faster, and more lasting.
How many milligrams of CBD are in the preparation or in the daily dose?
Since many people are confused and do not know how much CBD is actually contained in the daily dose of drops with different percentages of the active ingredient that they consume, let's clarify this. How many milligrams of CBD are in 1 drop of a 2% CBD preparation? To calculate this, we need the following information: how big is the bottle or how many milliliters of content are in it or, even better, how many drops are in the bottle, if this information is provided; how many milliliters does one drop contain (not all droppers are the same size, so the drops are also different sizes); and how many milligrams of CBD are in the contents of the bottle (it is important to look at how much CBD is in the contents of the bottle and not just how much resin. CBD resins can (depending on the variety of cannabis, harvest, etc.) contain different amounts of CBD and other cannabinoids). Let's say we buy 2% CBD drops. If the entire contents of the bottle contain 10 milliliters, and there is enough resin in 10 milliliters that the bottle contains 200 milligrams of CBD, we really have 2% CBD drops. If one drop contains 0.033 milliliters, there are 0.66 milligrams of CBD in 1 drop. This is calculated as follows: 0.033 milliliters (1 drop) x 200 milligrams (CBD content in 10 ml) : 10 ml (contents of the entire bottle) = 0.66 mg CBD. If the daily dose is 12 drops, we consume 7.92 milligrams of CBD per day.
