Let's support self-healing powers with CBG
Even if we don't yet know exactly what's wrong with us, we can help our body by supporting its self-healing powers with cannabis cannabinoids.
CBD is undoubtedly one of the most well-known cannabinoids in cannabis, but it is far from the only one. Cannabigerol (CBG) is also increasingly being researched.
Cannabigerol is often called the father of cannabinoids. This is because it is the precursor to all other cannabinoids, including CBD and THC. Like CBD, CBG is also believed to support the function of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and thus contribute to maintaining our health. Why?
What is CBD?
For those of you who don't yet know what CBD (cannabidiol) is and how it can help us, you can read numerous articles about it in our online news archive and in books. How to preserve your brain and Natural solutions for pain.
Because the endocannabinoid system is responsible for restoring balance or homeostasis whenever it is disrupted, many people call it the SOS system. When this system is working optimally, we can maintain balance and function at our maximum potential. However, when it is not working well, problems can arise – not only physical, but also mental. This means that a well-functioning ECS quickly detects irregularities and problems and does everything necessary to ensure that physical or mental problems can be resolved naturally in a timely manner.
Like cannabidiol, cannabigerol does not have the psychoactive effects typical of THC. Here are just a few of its therapeutic potentials that have been discovered through research to date:
- CBG exhibits antibacterial activity, especially against bacteria that have developed resistance to antibiotics, such as MRSA.
- It showed anti-inflammatory activity in experiments conducted on mice, in which it calmed inflammatory bowel disease.
- It also shows potential for problems caused by overactive bladder.
- It may be helpful for glaucoma, as it is said to lower eye pressure.
- Due to the neuroprotective effects it has shown in experiments on mice, it could potentially benefit people suffering from Huntington's disease.
- Many initial studies have also shown its potential in cancer, as it inhibits the growth of colorectal cancer cells.
