The sea and the strengthening of the ECS
Curiosities from the world of science and personal experience
Dear friends and supporters, as a summer greeting, I present to you an article about the benefits of the Sea and the Sun on our body, which is always worth reading
Researching the influence of the sea on our body and mind brought to my attention a very interesting article in the Croatian-speaking world about the positive effects of the sea and sea salt on our organism. The content attracted me so much that I decided to share this important information with you.
First, a few words about our remarkable SUPERSYSTEM – the endocannabinoid system or ECS
For our body to function properly, it is crucial that our endocannabinoid system, or ECS, is constantly in balance. When is our ECS in balance and what can we do to strengthen it naturally?
Most people already know that the ECS is our umbrella system, constantly making sure that all our body systems are in balance. When something happens to us, for example when we eat unhealthy food, breathe bad air, live in a stressful and toxic environment, get injured or even get sick, the ECS comes to our aid by producing endocannabinoids (our own cannabinoids), which take care of the internal regulation of responses to environmental stimuli. This way, our body “cleans itself” and takes care of our better psychophysical condition.
The key to naturally boosting the ECS is a relaxed life, moderate exercise, eating food rich in omega 3 fatty acids, a quality local diet with as few carbohydrates as possible, relaxation, breathing exercises, dancing, singing, peace... Support with hemp drops is also an important natural aid for our deeper relaxation before and during vacation, as it allows us to naturally release the tensions we have built up during the work-intensive part of the year.
Let's take a closer look at how the sea affects our body.
Summertime, especially the month of July, is naturally intended for rest and relaxing exercise. The ideal exercise during this time is swimming in the sea. Swimming allows us to cleanse our body and soul, and it is free and without much effort.Traditional therapists have emphasized the importance of seawater and sea salt for centuries.

The sea allows our bodies to detoxify and strengthen themselves.
Did you know that the sea has the same pH as healthy blood? The sea contains all the essential minerals and trace elements and is a high-quality and almost free source of mineral nutrients. Seawater promotes the exchange of minerals and toxins between the body and the sea.We know that water makes up about 70 percent of the weight of the human body, and the brain is made up of as much as 95 percent water!
Daily swimming is therefore a good way to treat your body to "salty" detoxifying hydrotherapy. Sea water contains all the healing minerals, and sea salt contains the cleansing elements, so swimming in the Sea allows the skin to detoxify and renew itself. Another advantage of swimming in the Sea is that the Sea has a large electromagnetic energy field that naturally recharges and balances the human energy system. This significantly contributes to the recovery processes and accelerates the cleansing of the entire organism. The air is charged with negative ions, which also help detoxify the blood and tissues and allow for the rapid removal of waste.
Small particles of salt in the air travel to the deepest parts of the lung alveoli. Trace elements and minerals such as magnesium, manganese, cobalt enter the body from the sea and strengthen natural immunity.
Hydration with sea salt
If you want to go one step further with natural body cleansing, the following information from traditional medicine is particularly valuable. Taoists also recommend consuming milliliters of exclusively pure seawater daily as a natural supplement to your diet. Of course, you should take a bottle of pure seawater from strictly unpolluted parts of the sea and keep it in the refrigerator. The recommended intake amounts are small and are diluted in a glass of pure water, preferably in a ratio of 1:7-10, depending on the individual. Since we often do not have crystal clear sea available, we can also hydrate and cleanse ourselves with the help of sea salt.
It should be emphasized that commercial, industrially refined salt, which is used daily, does more harm than good to the body. Such salt is deprived of natural minerals and trace elements and has no healthy effect on the body. For good hydration of the body and mineral support, only sea salt, which is unrefined and non-iodized, is suitable. The best choice is the flower of salt.
How unique the Sea is is shown by the fact that it cannot be artificially replaced or created. The same applies to our blood. More and more research confirms how healthy hydration with water, to which we have added a pinch of NON-iodized and NON-refined sea salt, is.. If we add a pinch of salt to a liter of water and drink at least 2 liters of this water a day, we will feel much better and our body will be grateful, as it will function much easier. If we have lived an unbalanced lifestyle with a lot of stress for a long time and ate unhealthy food, we must approach this area slowly and carefully, as excessive cleansing of the body can occur. Therefore, it makes sense to be careful and slowly increase the amount of water with the addition of sea salt. For the first few days, it is good to drink only 2 dcl of such water and observe ourselves so that we do not unnecessarily initiate too rapid cleansing. It all depends on the purity of our organism. Such hydration is important throughout the year, and even more so in the summer, when we lose a lot of minerals through sweating. Good hydration has a very, very big impact on cellular hydration, if we do not drink enough, our body dries out. The toxins that we consume or inhale accumulate and the cells consequently really suffer. If we have the opportunity to replace tap water with spring water, then our ability to hydrate our bodies is much greater and of higher quality. Tap water is under pressure, it probably contains some stabilizing additives, so it is good to pour such water into a carafe and let it stand for a while to relax. Or we can use special informed bottles, which have been proven to give the water the information of spring water and thus have a positive effect on our bodies. An even simpler way to enjoy water is to consciously hold a glass of water in our hands for at least a few moments and think of the word thank you and drink it with gratitude.
History of the study of seawater
The father of medicine, Hippocrates, was one of the first to teach about the healing power of the sea and its shores on his native island of Kos in the Dodecanese archipelago in the Aegean Sea. Legend has it that he came to this realization after observing the beneficial effects of the sea on the injured hands of a fisherman. He realized that Seawater reduces the risk of infections and regenerates cells, promoting the exchange of minerals and toxins between blood and water.. French scientist René Quinton devoted his life to the study of seawater and in 1906 published the book “Seawater, an Organic Medium”, in which he discussed the chemical similarity between blood plasma and seawater. Quinton’s colleague Claude Bernard discovered that the body is made up of 70 percent water, and together they studied the composition of blood, intercellular fluids and lymph. In 1897, Quinton concluded that the human body is analogous to seawater because it has the same mineral composition. After all, Seawater contains almost all elements found in nature, such as sodium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, silicon, and even silver and gold. 1 liter of sea water contains an average of 35 grams of various dissolved salts.
My tip
The Sun and the Sea are two of the most important building blocks of our well-being.During the summer, we have countless opportunities to strengthen ourselves. We can be in the sun every day, and it is important to expose as much of our skin as possible to sunlight, for at least 20 minutes between 11 am and 4 pm, as this is when our body produces the largest amount of vitamin D.
Let's take some time for ourselves at the seaside and go swimming. While swimming, we can consciously participate in "cleaning up" our bodies, both physically and mentally. Let us think, feel and consciously say to ourselves: “May the Sea cleanse all toxins, tensions and worries from our body and spirit and nourish us with minerals and its powerful energy.”
I wish you wonderful summer days, Darja
